dammit! i forgot the name of this fruit
when we were at ashok's dad's place in vaikom, ashok's cousin just picked these off a tree for us. they were sweet and refreshing, except we had to check for ants before eating them.

The fruit is Champakka in local language, i will get u the scientific name as well as the english name

It's called Wax Jambu. Learnt that when Madhu & I went to Thailand-there were so many different varieties. The scientific name ( I googled it)is Syzygium samarangense. Quite a mouthful, I'd say!!!

Your pics are really cool, reflect your wonder and curiosity. I remember that fruit as well, we used to have that and so many other fruits when we would go to Kerala on our summer vacation from Delhi.
